Agent and Contact Impersonation
In HaloCRM administrators have the ability to impersonate agents and contacts. This is done without accessing agent and contact login credentials and can be useful for confirming that people can see the correct areas of the web application and customer portal.
In order to impersonate users, you will first need to enable the impersonation settings in Configuration>Advanced Settings.
Ticking these checkboxes will add a button to the agent and customer screen for Halo administrators.
To impersonate an agent, go to Configuration>Agents and select the relevant person. Then press the ‘Impersonate Agent’ button.
This will reload your Halo instance, and you may be asked to log in again. Make sure to use your own admin credentials. Once, the page loads, you will be logged in as the agent and able to navigate the whole system.
To return to your administrator account, simply press the ‘exit’ button at the top of the screen.
Similarly, to impersonate a contact in the Halo customer portal, locate the person in the customer/contacts area and press ‘Impersonate Contact’.
You will then be directed to the Halo customer portal. Here you may be asked to login. Once again, make sure to use your admin user credentials. Once logged in, you will be free to navigate the Customer portal as the contact being impersonated.
To return to your agent account, either click on the text or press the contacts initials in the top right corner of the page and select ‘Switch to Agent Application’.
